HARMONY Playing Cards

$30.00

Open Numbered Edition (stamp seal) - CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE

HARMONY is a father son collaborative. Rochester, NY artist Cordell Cordaro and his dad, Wilmington, NC artist Joe Cordaro have created and designed a card deck that presents a combination of styles that are sometimes strikingly different in their expression while other times appear to spring forth from the same mind. The imagery bucks the tradition of picture cards duplicating and flipping an exact image.

The process itself unfolds with Joe beginning a drawing, be it a Court card or back design etc., then passing it over to Cordell for his interpretation or addition for the flip image. A reactionary and spontaneous way of working with no rules attached, which lends itself to a father and son's deeper sense of trust and appreciation for one another’s work. Beyond the Court cards we opted to split and solo the artwork for the Jokers, Aces and two additional insert cards (there are 56 cards total in the deck).
