The Table is a short dance film inspired by the Last Supper, reimagined through thirteen bodies, one table, and movement.
There are no words. No plates, no cups, no elaborate set. Only a low wooden table, a spare space, music, and thirteen dancers gathering around it.
Each dancer carries the essence of a figure from the original story, not through costume or literal portrayal, but through movement: the way they approach the table, the space they occupy, whom they reach for, whom they resist, and what happens when the harmony between them begins to fracture.
The familiar image is intentionally reimagined through different bodies. The thirteen figures are not bound by the gender traditionally associated with them. Women make up the majority of the dancers and creative team, creating a new visual language for a story that has historically been represented almost entirely through male bodies.
The movement draws from contemporary dance, street forms, ritual, stillness, and raw physical expression, allowing different dance languages to collide and ultimately become one.
Over the course of 10 to 15 minutes, the table transforms. It is a place of gathering and intimacy. A place of ritual. A place of tension and confrontation. A place where love exists beside fear, loyalty beside doubt, and tenderness beside betrayal.
The story is ancient, but the emotions are not.
The Table seeks to take one of history’s most recognizable gatherings and strip away what we expect it to look and sound like, leaving behind something elemental: thirteen people, together for one final meal, carrying everything that has been said and everything that is about to happen.

WHO MAKES THE TABLE
13 DANCERS
Thirteen performers embody the figures gathered at the table. The casting is intentionally gender-diverse, with character expressed through movement, relationship, tension and placement rather than traditional gender or literal historical portrayal.
1 CHOREOGRAPHER
The choreographer translates the emotional architecture of the story into movement, bringing together different dance languages and thirteen individual bodies into one cohesive work.
1 DJ / MUSIC ARTIST
Music becomes the voice of the film. The DJ shapes a sonic world that can move between pulse and silence, tenderness and tension, carrying the dancers through the changing emotional landscape of the table.
PRODUCTION TEAM
The filmmaking team transforms the live movement into cinema through cinematography, lighting, sound, editing and post-production, determining not simply how the dance is documented, but how it is ultimately experienced on screen.
CREATOR / DIRECTOR / PRODUCER
Cordell Cordaro originated The Table and serves as the creative thread connecting every part of the project: developing the concept, articulating its visual and emotional language, bringing the artists together, guiding the larger creative direction, securing resources and carrying the film from its first idea through completion.
WHERE THE FUNDING GOES
Cordell does not take a fee or percentage of the money raised for The Table.
100% of funds raised go toward the artists and professionals who make the film possible: the dancers, choreographer, DJ/music artist, production team, and the direct costs of creating the work.
